Really Fun Show!
Love this podcast, it always has me cracking up. Can’t wait for Slaughterhouse 5!

I LOVE this premise
At a time when book bans in the US are going through the roof, a podcast about the content within those books is a great idea. The hosts have natural chemistry and a level of intelligence you’d want from someone addressing this issue. Definitely recommend

Not what I expected
The show is different. I just started to learn about banned books. That is so wrong on many levels. If the book is not your topic don’t read it! The book I listened to is not my cup of tea but it is for someone. We all have a right to get our message out.

Really Interesting!
I was thinking Jennifer and David reading Banned books will be dull and boring! Boy was I wrong! They do a really good job of diving into the books, and learning why they were banned. You do not have to have read the book(s) or seen the movie(s) (if there is a movie about the book). They do all of this with a bit of hiker and I stayed entertained! I would suggest you give it a listen!

Great show!
I really enjoyed it.

My new virtual book club!
There’s nothing I love more than listening to people who are more knowledgeable than me talk about media I’ve enjoyed consuming. Jennifer and Dan do an incredible job of adding depth and perspective to books I’ve enjoyed and books I look forward to reading. Great podcast! I can’t wait to hear more.

clever title for a podcast and fun subject matter
I listened to the Halloween episode because the scary stories book they discussed was a huge part of my childhood and why I'm terrified of spiders too. The hosts are fun, the guestsarw interesting and the podcast is engaging. Its kind of long but its only a problem for a mom of five (like me) who is trying to carve out time to listen uninterrupted. Otherwise, its a wonderful podcast.

Some of my favorite books with great commentary!
Great podcast all around, but I especially love the episodes on A Wrinkle in Time and the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn! The hosts offer some really unique perspectives that make me appreciate these banned books even more. Way better than my local book club!

Different take on audio books
I love the commentary! There’s reading, chatter and dissecting what is happening. This is how I would read a book in a group setting. It’s like a book club!

Awesome idea/concept
I love this newly found show. Reading easy to listen to and the commentary along the way is entertaining and funny. Great job! A must listen if you want to understand what’s in the books that are/have been banned. I don’t have time time to read these book or never did but now I am able to and learn first hand what’s in the book…so I can decide for myself if I think the ban is good or bad…most time bad.

Worth the listen
Great show & it’s obvious that the hosts are knowledgeable and well researched. Love the candor & wittiness as well.

Amazing content
This is great I love it and enjoyed every bit keep it up!

Funny AND Smart
This show is such a treasure. The premise is genius and so appropriate for modern day hot topics - and these are the right hosts to bring it to life. Thank you for your wit and brilliance, Dan & Jennifer!

A perfect blend of humor and insightful discussion, making it a must-listen for book lovers and comedy enthusiasts alike.

✨Goldmine of literary insight and analysis
This podcast is a thought-provoking exploration of literature, censorship, and intellectual freedom. With insightful analysis, engaging discussions, and a splash of humor, the hosts shed light on the significance of banned books and the importance of free expression. Episodes offer a captivating journey through the history and impact of banned literature, inviting listeners to reflect on the power of storytelling and the challenges of censorship. Whether you're a book lover, a defender of free speech, or simply curious about the world of banned books, this podcast is a must-listen. Kudos to the hosts for enlightening content and their unwavering commitment to intellectual freedom. 🎉

Great way to revisit childhood classics!
“Banned Camp" delivers a delightful blend of humor and insight as they unravel the mysteries behind banned books. With each episode serving as a chapter from a banned book, the hosts engage in witty discussions and satirical analysis, exploring the controversial themes that led to censorship.

Interesting Concept
This is a serial podcast if you want to follow along on the book. Otherwise, if you are only in it for the banter between the hosts, you can listen at any point. I assume the hosts never read the books before to keep their opinions and reactions genuine; however, since they did not, the reading is a bit robotic, which gives genuineness to the show. Otherwise, it is funny to hear their opinions. If you are looking for a straight story-reading podcast, move on and don’t complain.

More fun than a barrel of monkeys!
It’s fantastic. Like having a book club of you and the hosts to react and respond to banned works! What a great way to share these classics. I hope they continue for many more seasons as it will be fun to tune in!

What a fun idea
This is such fun! I love the theme and intent behind the show and also love the banter between the hosts. Well done!

Great Show
I’ll say this, it’s great for it’s audience. If you’re someone just stopping by for something with no plans of commitment, this isn’t for you. BUT for someone who is ready to join for one or more books that get reviewed, the show is great. The audio is amazing, the hosts have great chemistry, and the interjections aren’t too frequent that it ruins the book. Great show.

Really enjoyed this.
I have been listening to this and enjoy it. Thanks.

My latest podcast obsession.
I’m really enjoying having these wonderful books read aloud to me! In my old age, I can’t seem to keep my eyes open when I’m reading for myself. With this podcast, I’m following along to some of the greatest works of literature I’ve known AND I’m able to get some tasks done at the same time! Thank you so much for starting Banned Camp! I love it here and I can’t wait to work along side all of the stories you’ll read!

Very fun and different podcast
I love to see a new podcast with a new and completely different take. Jennifer Davis and Dan Shulz appear to be good friends who created this concept. They read classic books together and then try to understand why they were censored by either the Right or the Left. They start with the classic To Kill A Mockingbird which neither of them had read before. I love this book and have read it aloud with my daughter so it holds a special place in my heart. If you’ve read the book, you’ll find it fun to hear their take remembering your own reactions. Periodically they trash talk each other and laugh at their take on things. Take a listen!

Interesting Idea
This is a very unique podcast. They read chapter by chapter and take breaks to discuss the topics that get the book banned. Each episode includes a chapter from the book. The reading is less narrated and more conversational. If you’re looking for a narrated book with no interruptions, this isn’t your podcast. If you’re interested in following along, line by line, to a banned book AND listening to a discussion about why it is banned (in the opinions of the hosts) then THIS is your podcast! Give it a try. These hosts are delightful.

A true gem
Jen and Dan have such an awesome concept and really run with it. Didn’t know I needed this in my life.

Great Premise and Awesome Chemistry
I love the premise behind this podcast. Jennifer and Dan have great chemistry and play well off of each other. I like the commentary during the chapter readings because it illuminates what our culture thinks is important now versus what was “risqué” or controversial in the past. Keep up the great work! Sincerely, Emily

Captivating Insights
Banned Camp podcast is a gem! With each episode, they unravel a banned book, like Fahrenheit 451, delving into its plot and the reasons behind its prohibition. Jennifer and Dan's insightful analysis adds depth, making it a captivating and thought-provoking listen. A must for book lovers and critical thinkers alike! I started listening to the book Fahrenheit 451 and I’m hooked!

Clever Show!
Clever show well recorded! Entertaining and fun. They add interesting narrative which encourages the listener to think.

Interesting concept
Love the idea of research why books were banned especially in the US. Found it hard to follow along with all the reading. I’ll follow and listen to some more. I’d like to hear more specifics of who banned it and why and was the ban ever lifted. The concept of banning the written word in the United States, is mine boggling. The purpose of the constitution was all about free speech so I love the concept of this podcast. I’m going to keep listening hopefully somewhere in there they’ll be the information I’m looking for keep up the good work.
